The Portuguese superstar joined the Riyadh-based side earlier this summer from Juventus and was given a rapturous welcome from the Al-Nassr fans.
And he almost marked his debut with a goal, only to be denied by the post. However, it was Anderson Talisca who scored the winner in the second half, as he fired home from close range.
After the game, Ronaldo took to social media to express his delight at the result, writing: “Happy to have started with a win! We have to keep working hard to achieve our goals.”
The win was a huge boost for Al-Nassr, who have endured a difficult few months. They were knocked out of the Asian Champions League in the quarter-finals, and have seen their Saudi Professional League title hopes take a hit due to the recent coronavirus pandemic.
However, with Ronaldo now in their ranks, they will be hoping to turn things around and challenge for the title this season.
The result also sparked jubilant scenes in the Al-Nassr camp, with Talisca taking to Twitter to thank the fans for their support.
He wrote: “Thanks for the support! It was an amazing feeling to score the winner on my debut. We will keep fighting for the team!”
