Fans and celebrities gather at Graceland to mourn Lisa Marie Presley : NPR

On August 16th, fans and celebrities alike gathered at Graceland to mourn the death of Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of the late music legend Elvis Presley. Lisa Marie, who was only 52, passed away earlier that day at her home in Los Angeles.

The gathering was a somber affair, with attendees dressed in black and carrying flowers in memory of Lisa Marie. Fans and celebrities alike shared their memories and stories of the beloved singer and songwriter, with many describing her as a “true angel” and “one of the kindest souls” they had ever known.

The event was attended by some of Lisa Marie’s closest friends, including Priscilla Presley, her mother; Michael Jackson, her ex-husband; and her four children, Riley, Benjamin, Harper, and Finley. Elvis Presley Enterprises also attended, and the company’s chief executive, Jack Soden, shared a few words about Lisa Marie’s life and legacy.

“Lisa Marie was a devoted daughter, mother, and friend, and her presence will be missed by all of us who knew her,” Soden said. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from fans and friends around the world.”

In addition to the gathering at Graceland, fans around the world also paid tribute to Lisa Marie. In Memphis, Tennessee, a mural of Elvis and Lisa Marie was unveiled, while in Los Angeles, fans left flowers and cards at the gates of Presley’s home.

The outpouring of love and support for Lisa Marie is a testament to her enduring legacy. While her life was tragically cut short, her memory will live on through her music, her family, and the countless fans who loved her.
