Parents in a California school district are speaking out against what they describe as an increasingly “woke” agenda that has taken over their children’s education.
The parents of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) say that what was once a “dream” school district has become a “woke” nightmare. They say that the district is pushing a progressive agenda that is out of step with the views of many of the families in the district.
The parents point to a number of issues that they say are evidence of the district’s “woke” agenda. They say that the district is pushing a “critical race theory” curriculum that is teaching students to view the world through a “racist” lens. They also point to the district’s embrace of the “1619 Project” which, they say, is a one-sided view of history that ignores the contributions of people of all races to the development of the United States.
The parents also point to the district’s embrace of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” initiatives that they say are divisive and alienating. They say that the district is pushing an agenda that is making some students feel like they are “second-class citizens” and that the district is failing to address the needs of all students.
The parents say that the district is pushing an agenda that is out of step with the values of the community and that the district is failing to provide a quality education for all students. They say that the district has become a “joke” and that the “joke is on us.”
The parents are calling on the district to return to its roots and focus on providing a quality education for all students, regardless of their race, gender, or political views. They say that the district should be a place where all students can thrive and that the district should not be pushing an agenda that is out of step with the values of the community.
