Qatar National Bank (QNB) recently announced the launch of a new biometric payments acceptance tool for merchants. The tool, called QNB Biometric Payment Acceptance, is designed to provide merchants with a secure and convenient way to accept payments from customers.
The tool is based on the latest biometric technology and is designed to ensure the highest levels of security and convenience for merchants. The tool allows customers to make payments using their fingerprints, eliminating the need for them to enter their card details or PIN number. This will help to reduce the risk of fraud and ensure that payments are made securely and quickly.
The tool is also designed to simplify the payment process for merchants. It eliminates the need for them to manually enter customer details into the system, reducing the time taken to process payments. Additionally, the tool can also be used to track sales and other customer data, allowing merchants to better manage their operations.
The launch of QNB Biometric Payment Acceptance is part of the bank’s commitment to providing its customers with innovative and secure payment solutions. The tool is expected to be rolled out to all QNB merchants over the coming months, with more features and enhancements planned for the future.
QNB’s biometric payment acceptance tool is a welcome addition to the payment landscape in Qatar. By providing merchants with a secure and convenient way to accept payments from customers, it is sure to help boost customer satisfaction and improve the overall customer experience.
Qatar-based financial services firm QNB Group has developed a new biometric payments acceptance tool for their merchants across the country. The solution, developed by PopID using its proprietary facial verification technology, leverages QNB’s acceptance network and is also supported by Visa’s tokenisation offerings. This allows consumers to verify payments against their purchases via facial verification, without the use of a physical card or mobile phone. To complete the one-time sign-up process, users are required to take a selfie of their face on their smartphones and then enter their phone number and card details to create their profiles. After that, the solution tokenises the card number and safely connects it to the facial biometric template. Merchants can then provide their customers with in-store sign-up through a QR code. QNB Group Senior Executive VP of Group Retail Banking Adel al-Malki stated that the new solution augments the already rich range of payment options, such as contactless payments, QNB ‘MyPOS’, and Samsung/Google/Apple pay. The payment landscape is constantly evolving and QNB is always at the forefront of this evolution, aiming to provide customers and merchants with a frictionless and enhanced payment experience.
