Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said Wednesday the FBI should search Hunter Biden’s home and business for possible classified documents.
Cruz made the comments during his “Verdict” podcast on Wednesday, which comes after the discovery of classified documents at President Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center and home in Wilmington, Delaware.
“The FBI must search and investigate to determine if there are any classified documents at Hunter Biden’s home or business,” Cruz said on his podcast. “The FBI doesn’t need to sit in the back for days and weeks and months and have someone put these documents in a shredder. They need to show up tomorrow and search the house and office. of Hunter Biden. If we care about protecting classified documents and understanding what Joe Biden did, we need to do it immediately.”
Cruz said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre should be asked, “Does Hunter Biden oppose an FBI search of his home and business?”

“Because if there’s no objection, the FBI can do it. Now, if they object, that means something to you,” Cruz said.
On January 12, White House Special Counsel Richard Sauber announced the discovery of classified documents in the garage of Biden’s residence in Wilmington, Delaware. Classified documents were also found at Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C. on November 2, 2022, and further classified documents were found inside his Wilmington home on December 20, 2022.
Biden’s personal attorney, Bob Bauer, said in a statement that six items consisting of classified documents were found Jan. 20 at Biden’s Wilmington home during an FBI search.

“At the outset of this case, the President directed his personal attorneys to fully cooperate with the Justice Department,” Bauer said. “As a result, having previously identified and reported to the DOJ a small number of documents with classification marks at the President’s home in Wilmington, and in the interest of advancing the process as expeditiously as possible, we have offered to provide a quick access to his home to allow the DOJ to search the entire premises for possible vice presidential records and possible classified documents.”
The search by FBI agents, conducted without a warrant and consensual, began on January 20 at 9:45 a.m. and ended around 10:30 p.m.
During a trip to California on Jan. 19, Biden said he had “no regrets” about his handling of the classified documents in deciding not to reveal their existence when they were discovered, less than a year. week before the midterm elections.
